Loma Linda University School of Medicine has selected Daniel R. Reichert, MD, FAAFP, as chair of the Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Reichert joined the School of Medicine faculty in 2016. He currently serves as assistant professor of family medicine, and previously served as vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine.
“Dr. Reichert is well qualified to advance the department’s strengths in clinical care, medical education, and research,” said Tamara Thomas, MD, dean of Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
He serves in other leadership roles for Loma Linda University Health including medical director of the Department of Family Medicine Faculty Clinics, and has served as Core Faculty in the Family Medicine Residency Program. He is a scholar in the Leading Physician Well-Being program sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Reichert is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and an active member of the California Association of Family Physicians and American Association of Family Physicians.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from Andrews University and his Doctor of Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Reichert will replace Roger Woodruff, MD, who served as the chair of the department since 2014.
The position will go to the board in August 2022.
