Loma Linda University School of Medicine has released a new video titled “Four Years of Medical School,” offering a behind-the-scenes look at the academic, personal, and spiritual journey of its medical students.
The video follows medical students from each class year as they reflect on the challenges, growth and purpose of becoming a physician. From their first days in the classroom to preparing for residency, the film highlights the resilience required for the journey — and the calling to serve through whole person care.
“The video offers future students an authentic glimpse into the realities of medical school,” said Tamara Thomas, MD, dean of Loma Linda University School of Medicine. “We have found that stories like these help future physicians envision themselves here and better understand what medical school life truly involves.”
Students offer candid insight into how they prepare for exams, their connection and support with their peers through LIFE Communities, and how they prioritize wellness throughout their training. Clinical rotations and community service experiences are also featured, illustrating how classroom learning translates into patient care.
The featured students include Kate Leon, Joelle Schauer, Ryan Kenney, and Erwin C. Stuffle, PhD, each representing a different stage of the medical school journey.
