On behalf of the Department of Basic Sciences in the School of Medicine and the Basic Science Research Symposium Steering Committee, I welcome you to our Annual Basic Science Research Symposium which will be held on October 24, 2024 at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. The theme for this year’s symposium is entitled,“Immunological Crosstalk in Health & Disease”.

We have garnered a wide variety of world renowned experts in the fields of Immunology, Inflammation & Cancer in order to adequately unearth the scientific underpinnings of the crosstalk that occurs between the immune system and other organ systems that ultimately lead to cancer.

During the symposium, participants will be able to attend career development round table discussions; visit vendors; attend poster sessions that highlight a diversity of basic science, translational and clinical research that is currently conducted at Loma Linda University and other institutions; listen to a keynote and other focused talks related to the theme; and listen to flash poster presentations. The symposium also provides networking opportunities for faculty and trainees in the form of one-on-one interactions and a designated networking session just after the symposium.

For many years, the symposium has promoted the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge via scientific talks and poster sessions and we hope to continue this legacy this year. We look forward to seeing you and wish you an intellectually stimulating experience.

Best,
