Subhadra (Subha) Ramanathan, CGC

Subha holds an MSc degree in Biomedical Genetics from the University of Madras, Chennai, India and an MS degree in Genetic Counseling from University of California, Irvine. She has over 20 years’ experience in clinical genetics, with over 15 years at LLU, where she has been passionate about providing excellent clinical care to underserved populations. She teaches Principles of Clinical Genetics in the School of Medicine and is the lead genetic counselor in the Pediatric Genetic Counseling service. She is excited to be at the helm of a program designed to train GCs for the future.

Robin Dawn Clark, MD

Dr. Clark is a Professor of Pediatrics and the Chief of the Division of Clinical Genetics at LLU. She has mentored and worked with students, genetic counselors, and interns in the provision of clinical genetics services for over 40 years. Her expertise is in congenital anomalies and neurodevelopmental disorders, with broad experience in cytogenetics, prenatal diagnosis, and cancer genetics. She is interested in health communication and is co-author of a textbook, Genetic Consultations in the Newborn (Oxford University Press). She is interested in health communication and in bringing more awareness of genetic testing and management of genetic conditions to neonatologists, primary care providers, and other specialists.

Jennyphane holds an MSc degree in genetic counseling from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, graduating in 2019. She has clinical experience specifically in cancer and cardiogenetics. She grew up in Haiti and is passionate about increasing awareness of genetic counseling as a profession amongst underrepresented groups. She has provided mentorship to students entering the profession and brings excellent organizational and communication skills to her position in the MSGC program.

Hayley Bottino, CGC

Hayley has an MS in human genetics and genetic counseling from the Keck Graduate Institute. She has been employed in the Maternal Fetal Medicine unit since her graduation in 2020. She was nimble in navigating the challenges of the pandemic and has honed in skills and expertise as a genetic counselor in the prenatal specialty in a high-volume clinic which serves high-risk patients. She is passionate about community outreach and its intersections with the genetic counseling profession. She is eager to mentor students in the MSGC program and connect them with meaningful speakers and instructors, volunteering,  and outreach opportunities in the community and beyond.

Instructor

Ann graduated from Long Island University Post in 2023. She grew up locally and returned to her home base to provide clinical services to a population with socioeconomic and other stressors. She is involved in general pediatric genetics and pediatric cardiogenetics. She draws from her own experience in accessing healthcare for her family who are immigrants from Vietnam when working with marginalized communities. She is involved in the Minority Genetics Professionals Network and the Alliance for Genomic Justice and is excited to be part of MSGC program development.

Jennifer graduated from the genetic counseling graduate program at Northwestern University in 2023. She is at the helm of the pediatric inpatient genetic counseling services at LLU and will extend her curiosity and appetite for information in her transition to laboratory genetic counseling services. Her myriad clinical interests include pediatric cancer and neuromuscular disorder.
