Participate in MITHS
MITHS is a challenging three-week summer program designed to introduce Black Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) high school students to careers in the health sciences. During the course, participants will be immersed in the Loma Linda University (LLU) campus life by experiencing first-hand opportunities on what happens at a health sciences university campus. Participants will be introduced to the health sciences by exploring topics ranging from medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, behavioral health, allied health, public health and healthcare administration. In order to best prepare students for higher education in these careers, a focus on enhancing test-taking skills in anatomy and physiology, mathematics, reading comprehension and writing will be implemented throughout the program. Students will be able to listen to courses taught by faculty from LLU, tour the hospital and simulation center, and learn the fundamentals of professions in the health sciences. Additionally, students will enjoy the richness of Southern California by participating in group outings around the area. The MITHS experience strives to prepare students for their senior year of high school and expose them on what to expect in college through an interactive experience.
